N.J. postmaster groped employee at post office, feds say

A New Jersey U.S. Postal Service postmaster was arrested Monday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a female employee at a Bergen County post office, federal prosecutors said.
Gabriel Ekram Pagabe Ali, 47, was charged with deprivation of rights under color of law and assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers of employees, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey.
The alleged assault happened on Nov. 26, 2022 at the U.S. Post Office in Teaneck, investigators said.
The employee, a female city carrier assistant who worked at the Teaneck office, allegedly had her breast and buttocks groped by Ali without her consent, the office said.
Ali was also accused of pulling the woman into his office as she resisted and also into a bathroom, authorities said.
No other information was released Monday.
